Shad - Lucky 1's
Once again I must thank www.HillyDilly.com for showing me this fantastic song and artist. Just take a moment to decipher these lyrics:
"I cant derail I train hard then relax on tracks"
The amount of meanings that one very sentence has in it is remarkable. That my friends is just the first line of this song. Take a look at it and let it inspire you to new heights.
Lyrics: Shad - Lucky 1'sI cant derail I train hard then relax on tracksKeep the brain sharp hitting like an axe on waxNever touch trees meaning I don't puff weedBut I hope to plant my seeds before I leaveBelieving that hope grows even in the stone coldBitter and meek old souls sold like its antiqueRoad show except for so damn cheapThey preach the new science hone the program sheepBut they won't find us, it's hide and go seekTo control minds like gold mines in MozambiqueWhere the folks can't eat so I stroll to slow jamFeet slow dancing lifes not grand prixNo race no pace car and there is no shortcutsAnd no ones that special and there is no short busThe core of us is simple, but dignifiedWe don't simply live to dieLook through the inner eye in the skyNow I'm a cynic but I try to keep my heart warmHuman beings start war, but I believe in peace even for DarfurFrom hardcore to humor to hereWhere we stare in confusion at a future so nearGot to take the spec out of your eye to see clearAnd if I'm gonna point fingers better point them at the mirrorReflections I reflect on lessons of my 26th yearErecting this next song hereSee you all know the drill like ExxonI guess wrong moves is experience like stairs to step on (yeah)And I don't talk biz and I don't talk downNo kids talk, but I don't talk bigGetting gassed like pop fizz off of pop hitsI ain't got to say real talk because all my talk isPop quiz who can define loveSo many blind plus they can't feel they'll never find us...My folks love me I feel lucky they all love meBut feel funny inside of world that is really uglyGod save us this hard labor is breaking backsIn the sands of time every step we making tracksThe hour glass is lasting faster than the hour lastOr so it seems more dreams they will come to passAnd nightmares they flare up like the flames erruptThe same dream I used to live now I gave it upAnd I've been saving up but money doesn't come quickComes and goes like the daylight one shiftAnd one sip of the well water it makes us liveForever we still here whether we take or giveAnd its survival of the fittest by the thinnest threadWhen father time moves the minutes what is in his headNot even in control of what we must becomeBut not far so I guess we are the lucky ones
Im from Toronto, Canada and its great to see somebody from the States recognizes the talent from here. TSOL is definitely the best album of 2010 in my opinion.
